Fighting Childhood Obesity Through the Power of Technology

schoolkids.jpg In a brilliant move by Minnesota educators, physical education classes are now offered online. The sitting around watching TV while munching on a bag of potato chips option has been very favorably received according to students who were in PE class via Wi-Fi at their local McDonald’s. One student reports:

“I would’ve had to go to gym class and take up an hour every day,” the 17-year-old said during a break from tossing a Frisbee with a few teammates. “I would’ve had to give up orchestra. If I’d taken it last year, I’d have had to give up German.”

Local health officials are encouraged by how excited kids have become about exercise as a result of the curriculum changes.
